It’s true, this magical substance CBD is good for both you and your pet.

First let’s define what CBD is. CBD stands for cannabinoid, and it is a compound found in the cannabis plant. It is the component of the plant that has zero psychoactive effects, and in fact has a multitude of medicinal and healing properties for us and our animals! Although CBD is a fairly new product on the market, it has been studied for years now and the effects are quite astonishing when you try them out yourself.

CBD is said to relieve anxiety, stress, chronic aches and pains as well as reduce symptoms of severe and debilitating health issues such as epilepsy. CBD is also an anti-inflammatory and is seen as a natural, therapeutic medicine for many people who suffer on the daily. Because CBD is becoming more commonly used as a medicine, people are relying less on their drugs and pills prescribed by their doctors and more on this natural healing plant that grows from the earth.

Without getting into a deep science lesson (we can do that another time) this post is really to introduce you to one of my favorite CBD brands, which is making CBD products accessible and enjoyable. TONIC is creating cbd botanical blends, by mixing healing adaptogenic herbs as well as healing foods such as coconut oil with the cbd to make the substance palatable and enjoyable. The pure liquid form of CBD has a very bitter taste, with a taste similar to the flower of the plant which most people know as the “marijuana” or “pot”. Although it may taste the same, it does not have the same effects.

TONIC’s plant based botanical blends are super easy to add to recipes, drinks, and even consume right from the bottle. The biggest question people have with CBD though is “how much do I take”? That’s one of the things I love most about TONIC. The dosage is super easy to figure out.

The oral droppers are one dose, so you don’t have to worry about measuring anything wrong. Just fill up the dropper to the top and you’re good. Also, nothing severe will happen if you take a little too much, you will just feel extra tired and maybe a little groggy. The most important thing to remember when trying CBD products is that it might take some trial and error to figure out your perfect dosage. Since everyone’s body is different and we all digest things differently, a dosage that works perfectly for me might not be enough or might be too much for you. Luckily, there are little to no risks in finding this out so give it a whirl and get ready to find your zen.

Adding CBD to recipes is a great way to incorporate it into your daily life, however the CBD oil cannot be cooked because that will change its potency. Which is why I’ve created two raw recipes for you here that provide you and your pet with a little dose of CBD and yumminess.

These Raw CBD Chocolate Truffles are the perfect treat for any time of day when you’re feeling any sort of anxiety or pain coming on. They’re low in sugar, high in healthy fat, and the TONIC O.G. has awakening and restorative properties, to calm the body and the mind.

These Frozen Pumpkin Bone Broth Treats also have healthy fats for pups, as well as TONIC Chill which has anxiety relieving properties for those times they truly need help calming down. Dogs love the basic ingredients in these (pumpkin, bone broth and coconut) and you will have no problem serving them up this instant chill (no pun intended) 🙂

When creating a raw treat with TONIC’s botanical blends, it’s best to figure out how many servings your recipe will make and then divide that amount to figure out how much TONIC to add to the ingredients.

Investing in these cbd+botanical blends means investing in your mind, body and soul and let’s be real here, is there anything more important?
